The Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital aims at creating a state-of-the-art medical facility in the port city of Gwadar. Currently the Hospital holds 50 beds. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative it will be upgraded to 100 beds and eventually to 300 beds.

Current Status
A feasibility study has been completed. Currently the hospital consists of one medical block and some residential blocks. In order to upgrade the hospital to 300 beds five more medical blocks (with 50 beds each) will be constructed as well as nursing and paramedical institutes, medical college, central laboratory, and other allied facilities. A Letter of Engagement was signed in April 2018.

The China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital is financed through a Grant. The Economic Affairs Division (EAD) of Pakistan has sent a Grant request to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).
